Hiking Deer Mountain – Alaska

18th Jul 2020 by

Deer Mountain, at 915m, towers over Ketchikan, Alaska. It is screaming out to be climbed, with the trailhead being walkable from the town. But this is no easy walk as it soars 790m in just under 3 miles of hiking – guaranteed to get your heart-rate pumping.

I took time out from my work-exchange program back in 2016 to attempt the climb and see if I could find the mysterious blue lake.
